No meeting this Friday as most of us will be at ShmooCon. QuiGon's bad for being a tard about not updating the site. He and Sysmin have been working on their preso for Shmoo. See everyone in March.

Jax 2600 meeting Friday 12/03/04. Presentation will be given by Ethin on TCPDump. Meeting will be at Fuel, and QuiGon's bad for not making any announcements for last month....:-P.

Jax 2600 meeting Friday 10/01/04. Sorry for the late announcement, but hurricanes have been hosing most of our lives lately. Meeting will be at Fuel, and we're holding wargames. Sysmin and I (and others, which we appreciate immensely) will be bringing in some old machines with vulnerable OSes to exploit. We're setting this up as a dry run for a possible game of Capture the Flag in the future. We'll start laying down the rules of engagement at around 6:45PM, and probably start around 7PM, barring any major issues.

Jax 2600 meeting Friday 08/06/04. Bruce Roberts will be speaking on a topic TBD, and Dad and the Brothers Klein will be speaking about DefCon. As long as there's no major issues with it, we're changing venues to the Whalebone Grille, which is across the street from Starlite. It's quieter, and they serve pretty good food (and probably a bit more roomy). Any complaints or compliments on the new venue should be either posted to the list or mailed to me.

Jax 2600 meeting Friday 05/14/04. A week late, I know, but Sysmin and I are going for our CISSP on Sunday, so we're postponing the meeting to study....deal. UPDATE: Sysmin and QuiGon will be doing a CISSP basics/study review at this meeting.

ALSO, in surfing the web today, I (QuiGon) found this site that seems to show some corporation's ideas on limiting one of our quintessential rights, the right to VOTE, out of greed. I've agreed to mirror the documents for them until I too get a cease and desist order (this is my server, after all....:-P). You can check it out locally here.

Meeting Friday night (08/08/03). Topics will include DefCon, an interesting webserver hack that was attempted on QuiGon's webserver, and possibly Kismet 3.0 if QuiGon or Sysmin can get it running. DefCon rawked. Check the site for contest winners and other news. Also, QuiGon recommends never flying Continental or flying thru Newark airport (come to the meeting to find out why, too long to type).

Wigle reports user hacksonvil (AKA us) as having almost half of the reported WAPs in Jax (511/1066). Not bad for 6 weeks worth of work. Shout outs to Sysmin for his hard work in tracking a lot of them down. The goal was getting us over 1000 by DefCon. Looks like we made it and then some.
